The Catholic Diocese of Townsville spans an area of more than 435 000km2.

The coastal span of the Diocese extends from its southern-most border of  Proserpine, north to Ingham.  The area extends west to the Northern Territory border.

The Diocese includes the major commercial centres of Townsville and Mount Isa and several rural and remote communities including Palm Island.
