INTRODUCTIONOperating from two campuses (St Mary's and Mt Carmel) the College was established in 1998 following the amalgamation of the three existing Catholic Schools in Charters Towers. The first Catholic school, St Columba Primary School was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1876. St Mary's Secondary Girls' followed in 1882 and Mt Carmel in 1902 as a Secondary Boy's School. Charters Towers has a strong tradition of boarding school education. Present day classes are co-educational from Prep to Year 12. The residential sections operate from the two campuses offering single sex facilities and care - St Mary's campus for girls and Mt Carmel Campus for boys. Columba Catholic College - Charters Towers
