2019 Severe Weather Event Update Thursday 7 February 2019

All Catholic Schools in Townsville will be open tomorrow (Friday, 8 February).

St Margaret Mary's College welcomed many of their Years 7, 11 and 12 students back today. The College is planning for remaining students to return on Monday and so are planning to be fully operational from Year 7 through to Year 12 from Monday, 11 February. St Margaret Mary’s College staff and students are grateful to all in the community who have assisted them to be able to get to this point so soon after the flooding of the Crowle St campus.

St Peter's Catholic School, Halifax will be open tomorrow, but we will be monitoring the weather situation overnight.

Our focus remains with providing a supportive environment at our schools, especially for those students whose homes and families have been affected by the flooding. Our teachers, together with pastoral and counselling staff, are assisting students to settle back into their school routine.

Thank you to our parents, staff and school communities who have shown grace and gratitude in the last week, and we keep all families in our prayers.
