Mount Isa 

Mount Isa is one of TCE’s well-known western school communities due to its strong Beginning Teacher connections and well-serviced and engaging community. Just a two hour flight from Brisbane and Townsville, you arrive in the heart of the outback. Mount Isa is commonly known as the ‘Oasis of the Outback’ where the adventure awaits.

Charters Towers

Charters Towers is 135km west of Townsville known as an authentic country town full of rich Australian history and heritage where walking through the streets on a guided tour resembles a living montage.
Charters Towers is home to Columba Catholic College, which is a vibrant, affordable P-12 Catholic College catering for the full needs of families and students. The college has a primary and secondary campus including separate girl’s and boy’s boarding facilities. Cloncurry, Hughenden and Winton

It should be remembered that while these schools are in isolated or remote areas, the experiences and opportunities immersed in the local community. Teachers within these school communities will often have the chance to take on a leadership role much earlier in their careers than their counterparts in less remote areas.
