Catholic Education Week

The Catholic Education Week 2016 theme is "Opening Doors in the Year of Mercy".

Celebrations will reflect the Year of Mercy, drawing on the symbolism that Catholic schools ‘open doors’ for students in a holistic educational sense. The theme challenges members of the Catholic education community to extend tangible assistance to those in need and recognise and follow the example of those who in some way ‘open doors’ for others.

Activities which promote Catholic education as a faith-based education that nurtures a commitment to social justice and a critical social consciousness will be central to the week. The theme is a chance for school communities to engage in a broad range of activities showcasing the opportunities that Catholic education provides.

Catholic Education Week is an annual state-wide event that promotes the distinctive mission of Catholic schools throughout Queensland. The week is celebrated by all schools through a range of activities, liturgies and events.
