Townsville to host Catholic Education Week Launch

Queensland’s 304 Catholic school communities are looking to new horizons as they celebrate this year’s Catholic Education Week from 29 July to 4 August.

The theme for this year’s celebration is Discovering new horizons, drawn from the words of Pope Francis at World Youth Day in 2016 when he told young people that to live a Christian life they would need ‘a good dose of courage, a readiness to trade in the sofa for a pair of walking shoes and to set out on new and uncharted paths’.

 Queensland Catholic Education Commission Executive Director Lee-Anne Perry said the week of celebration was a time to focus on the achievements of Catholic schools across the state.
