Townsville Grammar School hosted the annual Townsville Junior Lego Robotics Competition, with a dynamic display of creativity and ingenuity.

Teams from schools in Townsville, the Burdekin and Charters Towers participated in this event where young minds were challenged to craft innovative solutions using LEGO robotics kits.

St Francis Catholic School, Ayr attended the event leaving with a very special prize taking out the award for the most innovative design.

The challenge this year was for the students to design, build and code the quickest race car.

The group of students had to use their knowledge, team work and problem solving skills as well as creativity to produce a moving car which they called The Next Generation Green Machine. This challenge involved students not only designing the car, but also building it with LEGO and programming it to move.

This was the first time that St Francis Catholic School participated in this competition and the students did a wonderful job!
