Executive Director's Welcome

Catholic Education has been an integral part of the education landscape for more than 150 years in the Townsville Diocese with our first schools established in Townsville and Bowen in 1973. I am very proud of Townsville Catholic Education’s achievements which rest on the shoulders of many clergy, religious orders, professional educators, families and community members who have continued to lay firm foundations since the humble beginnings.

The mission of our catholic schools provides for excellence for every child whose holistic education is entrusted to our care. Our schools are always striving to improve and students are placed at the centre of these efforts which are grounded in Catholic virtues and beliefs. Our students will experience success according to their unique characteristics and talents and are formed to become “people who live with gratitude for the past, enthusiasm for the present and hope for the future.” - Pope John Paul

To achieve our mission, our system of Catholic schools proudly educates students within modern and contemporary facilities. These facilities are welcoming, inclusive and exciting places of learning, discovery and innovation. Our Catholic schools participate in the evangelising mission of the church and do so with a culturally diverse student population in active partnership with families and parishes. 

Our schools are unique in their spirit and united in the expression of Catholic virtues transforming each child personally, socially, intellectually, culturally and spiritually.
