About the School
We are pleased to announce that our doors will open in 2025, welcoming Year 7 students to our co-educational college located in Shaw.
Mary Help of Christians Catholic College is a long-awaited addition to the Townsville Catholic Education family. With the rapid growth of our community, there has been a high demand for Catholic secondary education. Our new college aims to alleviate this pressure and cater to the increasing preference for Catholic education in our city.
We are excited to offer a co-educational secondary education option that is not part of a P-12 setting. With 11 Catholic schools in Townsville, including 7 primary schools, 3 Prep to Year 12 colleges, and one all-girls secondary college, we saw the need for a co-educational option and are happy to provide it for our community.
The school's name, Mary Help of Christians Catholic College, has been carefully selected and endorsed by Bishop Timothy Harris as the Patron Saint of the Townsville Diocese. Our aim is to provide students with a faith-filled, Christ-centred education that nurtures their spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth.
Construction of the first stages of our college will commence in 2024, with the official opening at the commencement of the 2025 school year. We will welcome 120 Year 7 students in our first year, with plans to eventually accommodate six-stream year levels and provide education to 1,000 students.
We look forward to welcoming students in 2025 and making a positive impact on our community through high-quality Catholic Education.
