About the School
St Catherine's Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational college, established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1925.
St Catherine’s Catholic College, The Whitsundays has a very special place in the history of the Whitsundays. Established as a small convent school by the Sisters of Mercy in 1925, the College has grown to include three dedicated precincts for each stage of schooling.
The College draws its inspiration from the work of St Ignatius, who encouraged students to think deeply and challenged them to change the world for the better. This provides students with an education that is more than just academic. The students are nurtured to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally and physically in a community that embraces Catholic values.
As with all schools, a partnership needs to exist between home and school. At St Catherine's, parents are viewed as an integral part of the school community. Parents and staff work together at encouraging each child to reach their full potential, so they can confidently meet the opportunities and responsibilities of today and their future.
