VET Programs

The Townsville Catholic Education RTO offers the following VET qualifications for delivery in schools. Not all Catholic schools offer all of the qualifications listed. Please contact your school to find out what qualifications you are able to enrol in at your school and to access detailed information on these qualifications.


CHC24015 Certificate II in Active Volunteering
This nationally recognised qualification will equip students with the skills and knowledge to work in volunteering roles. This course offers the opportunity to explore community settings and work related tasks that maybe transferable to employment.


CPC10120 Certificate I in Construction
This nationally recognised qualification provides students with an introduction to the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations. Students will learn about essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation structure, communication skills, work planning, and basic use of tools and materials.


FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
This nationally recognised qualification provides students with foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways. The qualification covers reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills, and digital literacy and employability skills.


SIT10222 Certificate I in Hospitality
This nationally recognised qualification will expose students to a range of hospitality work activities, including hospitality workplace environments, basic food preparation and food hygiene.


SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality
This nationally recognised qualification provides students with an introduction to the hospitality industry. It develops your skills and knowledge relating to working effectively and safely, interacting with customers, cultural awareness, and preparation of food and beverages.


BSB30120 Certificate III in Business
This nationally recognised qualification will provide students with skills and knowledge required to work in a variety of business services job roles. Learn a broad range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative, technology and business skills. Specifically, develop communication and customer service, writing simple and business documents, producing spreadsheets and workplace health and safety skills and knowledge. 


CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support
This nationally recognised qualification will provide students with skills and knowledge required to work as a teacher aide in various school settings. It is also relevant to students who would like to become a teacher, where further university studies are required. Learn how to support teachers in providing school-aged children with assistance with learning, literacy, numeracy and communication skills. 


CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
This nationally recognised qualification will provide students with skills and knowledge required to work in a range of early childhood settings such as long day care, outside of school hours care, family day care and kindergartens. It is also relevant to students who would like to become a teacher, where further university studies are required. Learn how to provide children with education and care, help plan and develop educational programs, and work effectively in an early childhood setting
