Good Shepherd Catholic College provides Catholic secondary education for boys and girls from year 7 to year 12. Each student is encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
The college is a safe, caring environment, and is particularly proud of their curriculum and co-curriculum offerings which cater for the holistic development of each child. High standards are expected f Good Shepherd Catholic College students, illustrated by the school’s 100% record of eligible students having attained QCE qualifications.
Good Shepherd Catholic College was established as Mount Isa Catholic High School in 1985 from buildings and resources of San Jose Secondary School for girls and St Kieran’s Christian Brothers’ College for boys. These schools had been in operation since the early 1960s.
Since 2012, the College has welcomed extensive redevelopment, including the construction and refurbishment of the Lumen Christi Centre, comprising the multi-purpose court, new classroom and gymnasium, and a new canteen. The works have also included construction of the new Library precinct, which houses the College’s sacred space.
The College is closely aligned to the Good Shepherd Parish.
